KARMA MARKET POLICIES & PROCEDURES
Due to the overwhelming popularity of the Karma Market and the limitless generosity of our community we have had to make some changes to our operating procedures. The high volume of shoppers and donators has put an incredible strain on our space and our volunteer mama-power. We are implementing these changes to ensure every mama in need receives a hand up and not just a hand out. Do understand these changes are needed for the continued success of the Market and to meet the demand of mamas who need to access our services. We thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Effective immediately access to shop at the Karma Market will be by appointment only. Appointments can be booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and (once updated) also through our app. This will allow us to personally help each Mama and limit the congestion and hazards of operating at overcapacity in our small space.
Appointment times are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Later appointments will be available on Thursdays for those who cannot make it in during the work day.
We can no longer accept used donations at this location. We ask that you instead donate your items on the Mamas Facebopok group, or bring to the monthly swap or drop off at our community partner, the Women’s Shelter Thrift Shop located at #6-368 Industrial Ave Kelowna, BC.
We still accept the following items at the Karma Market by appointment only:
- Diapers, wipes and formula
- New & like new baby equipment (cribs, exersaucers, jolly jumpers, monitors,etc)
- New or like new books
- Brand new clothing for all members of the family
- Brand new toys
- Brand new towels, bedding and pillows
- Brand new personal hygiene items
- Brand new, unopened and not expired food
